Architect Nkwegu made the call in a statement in Abakaliki.
While condemning the senseless killings in Egedegede by the marauding herdsmen, Architect Nkwegu condoled families of those who lost their lives in the attack and charged security agencies to expedite action and bring the perpetrators to justice.
"My good people of Ebonyi State, please let us sheath our sword and embrace peace, remember that human lives are sacred and it is sinful to take what we cannot create, let us overlook what has transpired and give peace a chance for the sake of our peaceful co-existence," he said.
He appealed to people and Stakeholders of Effium and Ezza Effium, Abaomege and Ishinko communities to embrace the peace entreaties of the State Government to pave way for development of their areas as no development takes place in the atmosphere of rancour.
He called on people and stakeholders to complement the Governor's peace initiative through the establishment of local vigilantes to police the communities.
