---Distributes rice, wrappers, cash
The Chief Executive Officer of Tycoon Group of Companies, Dr. Okpala Benson Iyke has celebrated Christmas with the physically challenge persons, widows, blind, deaf and dumb, among others by distributing bags of rice, undisclosed cash, wrappers among others.
He made the distribution during the annual disable and less privilege party held in Abakaliki, the State Capital.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer said his objective of celebrating with the people was to put smiles in their faces in the State, owing to their sufferings and also to complement the efforts of the State Governor Engr. David Umahi who has done a lot in catering for the wellbeing of Ebonyians especially the less privilege and the downtrodden.
He stated that the company has embarked on numerous social investment programmes to disabled and less privilege persons ranging from human capacity building and direct scale establishment in the State to reduce their sufferings, adding the Company has also sponsored the discharge over twenty indigent patients in both private and public hospitals, as well as secured scholarship to over ten persons in University and secondary school level and expressed his readiness to embark on destitute home project with the view to provide skill acquisition among the people.
He congratulated the State Governor Engr. David for creating an enabling environment for business to thrive and called on well to do individuals to embrace such philanthropic disposition to better lives of such people.
The Mother and Wife of the benefactor Lady Ezinne Okpala and Dr. Joy Okpala said they rendered help to those people in appreciation to God for all he has done to them for the year.
They encouraged the people to always put their trust in God as he is the ultimate provider and would not allow them to be put to shame and vowed to continue exercise to give them sense of belonging.
The financial manager of the company Mr. Jude Ugada expressed joy over the ceremony, he said his boss has distinguished himself among his equals especially rendering help to the downgraded and downtrodden in the State.
"My boss is from Anambra but he choosed to be doing all this things to Eboyians to reduce their plights and I have started doing such to my people in my own little capacity" he said
In an interview, some of the beneficiaries including Mazi Joshua from Onitcha LGA, Josephine Aleke from Effium Community and Nwatuba Timothy from Izzi LGA, all applauded the chief executive officer for his kind gesture and prayed God to bless him accordingly while calling on the well to do individuals to reciprocate the gesture for a better society.
Meanwhile, the event was dedicated to God by Rev. Canon Augustine Ndukwe of St. Faith of Anglican church, Eziobodo in Abakaliki.
