A non-political group, Association of Izhi Nnodo Media Workers has applauded the Senator representing Ebonyi North in the National Assembly, Senator Dr Sam Egwu for effective representation.
This was contained in a release issued and made available to journalists in Abakaliki by the Director of Media and Publicity, Comrade Boniface Nwankwo, when the Association paid a Christmas homage on the Senator at his Umuebe Izhi Country home on Sunday.
According to the release, the President of the Association, Comrade Sunday Nwambam extolled the former Governor who is a two time member of the National Assembly for pragmatic leadership which has resulted in all round wellbeing of people of the Zone.
Comrade Nwambam particularly appreciated Senator Egwu for massive rural electrification and construction of feeder roads particularly within the Izhi axis and advised him not to relent.
The President while commending the Senator for various empowerment opportunities granted Izhi sons and daughters, assured the Senator of the continued support of Izhi people to his political aspirations going forward.
Responding, Senator Egwu commended the Association of Izhi Nnodo Media Workers for coming to felicitate with him during the yuletide and assured that he would continue to bring home his constituents' fair share of democracy dividends.
The Senator while pledging to continue to remain vocal to the mission for Izhi project, expressed readiness to partner the Association of Izhi Nnodo Media Workers to sensitize the people of the Zone on the ingredients of good governance.
Senator Egwu used the occasion to appeal to people of the Senatorial Zone to obtain and update their Permanent Voter Cards to enable them have a stake in the conscription of their Leaders in the coming dispensation.
He also appealed to them especially the Youths to shun intake of methamphetamine popularly called "mkpulumini" and other dangerous substances in order to remain useful members of the society.
