The Ebonyi Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Charles Akpuenika has said that non-indigenes in the state would reciprocate their inclusion in the state's civil service recruitment exercise.
The Anambra-born Akpuenika made the declaration in an interview on the examination for the recruitment exercise held in various centres across the state last weekend.
The commissioner who is a leader of the non-indigenes in the state, said that they were indebted to Gov. David Umahi for accommodating non-indigenes in the recruitment of over 5,000 workers into its civil service.
"We would continue supporting the government's policies and programmes and continue contributing towards peace and security in the state.
"We have been actively participating in electoral processes in Ebonyi since 2015 and would not be left out in 2023.
"We would align with the governor's disposition as regards his successor because we want some one who would protect our interest.
"The governors protected us when certian elements outlined some unfavourable polices, insisting that the non indigene syndrome had been abolished in the state" he said.
He said that it heart-warming that the Ebonyi government was recruiting civil servants when other states are disengaging workers.
"This shows that the state's economy is strong and was being prudently managed by the governor.
"The massive development strides in the state can be attributed to the all-inclusive policies of the state government,"
