In the unfortunate incident of the suspended DCP ABBA KYARI getting involved in drug business which led to him being declared wanted by the NDLEA through a press Statement organized by the anti-drug agency and the subsequent Nigerian police announcement that he has been arrested just to calm down the tension and manage the situation. Nigerians are still asking the same question which led to October 2020 nationwide ENDSARS protest. Is Nigerian law meant for the poor masses?
Recall that this man in question was the first and only Super Cop to be honored by the National Assembly for his tremendous performance in tackling high way criminalities. He has received many international recognitions to that effect and the records are there in the public domain. He is likened to erstwhile Boss of the EFFC, Ibrahim Magu, who was more political than the politicians thereby having excess powers unchecked which definitely led to abuse of those powers.
ABBA KYARI has been mentioned in many cases such as the popular billionaire kidnapper's case known as Evans where he played a major role in sustaining the man in the kidnapping business for a long time. He was recently fingered into the popular Ramon Abbas, commonly known as Hushpuppi case which is currently facing trial in the USA for money laundering and varying degrees of scam. This is to mention but few.
While all these were happening, ABBA KYARI was operating safely and doing his drug business. Who knows how many innocent people him and his team has sent to early grave through that deadly drug business. And that keeps me wondering whether Nigerian law are made for the poor masses alone. You can imagine the kind of message we are sending to the international community. Really, there was a country.
Arresting Abba KYARI should not form the headline news of any meaningful media organization. The arrest is an after thought from the same people who believes that Nigerian law is meant for the poor masses. He should rather be extradited to USA to face the crime that he committed over there while those in Nigeria can wait. This is the only way to restore the confidence of Nigerians on the resolve of FG in fighting corruption. Remember that No Nigerian Should Be More Nigerian Than Any Other Nigerian.
While we all know that the problem of this country is corruption and insecurity, we should as well know that corruption begets insecurity and to solve either of them, real anti corruption war should be intensified. The political anti corruption war of this present administration is rather making insecurity worse than ever before.
