The Ebonyi State Chapter of Youths Wing Christian Association of Nigeria ( YWICAN) has paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Ambassador to Zambia, Ambassador Nwannebuike Ominyi in his Abakaliki residence.
The Chairman of the association, Deacon Nwodom Stephen who led members of the association on the visit, said they went to inform the Ambassador who was the Pioneer Chairman of YWICAN in the State that the association is still growing stronger and vowed never to allow it go into extinction.
Deacon Nwodom who appreciated Ambassador Ominyi for the honour done to them, stated that he has distinguished himself among his equals and urged him to continue doing good as God would definitely reward him in thousandfold.
Deacon Nwodom advised Ebonyi youths to abstain totally from violent activities and shun intake of illicit drugs while encouraging them to embrace Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour as well as engaged themselves meaningfully for a better society.
He observed that YWICAN in the State under his watch has trained many youths in a skill acquisition programmes including barbing saloon, tailoring, hair dressing among others as well as the visitation of inmates of Abakaliki correctional services and expressed commitment towards the betterment of the lives of Ebonyi youths.
Responding, the Nigeria Ambassador to the Zambia, Ambassador Nwannebuike Ominyi, lauded the leadership of YWICAN in the State, describing their visit as the first of its kind since the inception of the association in the State and pledged his unalloyed support towards the growth of the association.
Our correspondent reports that the Ambassador used the opportunity and hand over an employment letter to the YWICAN Legal Director, Mr. Ikechukwu Anyigor at the federal college of education, Isu, in Ebonyi State.
The YWICAN Boss was accompanied to the visit by the former Chairman, Apostle Onyeagozi Okike among other members
