The major opposition party in Nigeria, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Governor Nyesom Wike as one of the members of the National Council for the Ekiti State governorship poll.
The Ekiti State governorship election has been slated for the 18th of June, 2022. The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party is a former House of Assembly member, Otunba Bisi Kolawole who is well supported by a former Governor of the state, Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba noted that Governor Seyi Makinde will serve as the Chairman of the National Campaign Council for the forthcoming election.
Council members include former presidential aspirants, Nyesom Wike, Governor of Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, and Senator Samuel Anyanwu among others.
It is expected that the party will announce the date of the inaugural meeting in due course. - Daily Post.
