No fewer than four communities and towns in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state have ahead of the forthcoming general election vowed to bar the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from carrying out political campaigns in their area.
The town organizations of the four communities under the aegis of Nkerefi, 𝙉𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙞 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢, 𝙉𝙋𝙁, made this known in a statement signed by its publicity secretary of the Forum Chief Emmanuel Onuabuchi and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
The leadership of the unions lamented that the communities in Nkanu East Local Government Area were abandoned since passing the administration of the PDP government in Enugu state.
The statement reads in part: "Nkerefi, the largest town in Nkanu East has suffered a developmental setback over the years, the people of our land have been contributing to fixing our roads by ourselves
"Our people have been loyal to PDP for years but nothing to show for it, we have begged and tried to produce any elective position but the party's hatred for Nkerefi has made them not to see able men in our land,
"If there is the word of equity in the PDP party a Nkerefi man should be the flag bearer for the governorship come 2023 because it's the only way to practice the word of equity
"Comparing PDP and APC my people will choose APC and any other party because they have demonstrated love for my people more than the PDP, the little fixed kilometres of road within Nara and Nkerefi are being constructed by the federal government controlled by the APC, so why must we leave them and support those that didn't value us he said
"We shall allow our youths to stone them when next they come to campaign in our land because they have nothing new to offer, of course, you can see it from their choice of candidates, they are all those we know before, the same people who have neglected our people over the years, what did they want to tell us this time again" He added
