USAID State2State Ebonyi Field Office organised a Workshop on the Fiscal Year 2023 Workplan Development between August 11 - 12 2022 at Nike Lake Resort, Enugu.
The Principal Secretary to Ebonyi State Governor and Co-Chairman, Open Government Partnership (OGP), Ebonyi State, Chief Emmanuel Obasi was in attendance.
Also in attendance was the State Head of Service, Dr Ritamary Okoro, Hon Commissioner for Finance, Orlando Nweze, Permanent Secretaries of Ministries of Health, Water, Finance, Local Govt, Education and Rep of EBHA were in attendance.
The State Auditor General, Executive Secretary of State Procurement and some LGA Treasurers etc were also participants.
The Workshop which was sponsored by the USAID Accountability, Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity was a platform for effective collaboration between S2S with Ebonyi State Government and Civil Society Groups to develop a Workplan for the 2023 Fiscal Year.
Six of the Grantees (partnering CSOs viz: TID, DIG, PEP, PCIC, WOCHAD and WEWE) working with the State Field Office of S2S were visibly present.
The Workshop was also a platform used to review FY2022 and shortlist or capture new components including cross purposes and cross-cutting components.
USAID State2State used the opportunity to collect all the proposed intervention areas in Education, Health, Water and WASH.
It's important to note that the major objective of State2State is to ensure effective reforms in the Service Sectors of the economy to ensure good governance.
In his closing remarks, the Principal Secretary to Governor, Chief Emmanuel Obasi thanked God for the success of the Workshop. He also thanked His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi for keying the state into the Activities of USAID State2State and approving the participation of senior Government Officials in the Workshop. He equally thanked the State2State Team Leader, Dr Sam Onyia and his team for their patriotic efforts and humanitarian services through the reform for results approach. He equally thanked all the participants for their effective participation.
He appealed to State2State STL to do everything within his reach to ensure the expansion of State2State Activities in the state in the coming Fiscal Year.
