The Wife of Ebonyi State Governor Chief (Mrs) Rachel Umahi has commissioned some gigantic projects built by the chairman of the Council Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku.
The projects which were commissioned by the Governor's Wife included Rachel Umahi Lodge built at Uburu and Uhuotaru Civic Center at Ngwulangwu among other life touching projects constructed by the outgoing chairman.
Speaking while commissioning the projects, the Governor's Wife who was highly elated, commended the council Chairman for building such wonderful edifice in the area and enjoined people of the council to guide the projects jealously in their own interest.
She also called on the incoming chairman of the council to consolidate on the achievements of Mrs Iyioku for the good of the people and overall development of the local government area in the future.
Mrs Umahi described the council chairman as a good example female folk in governance of Ebonyi State, adding that she has demonstrated and represented the epitome of a good leadership that others would emulate.
She further charged women in the council and Ebonyi State in general to secure their votes and vote for credible leaders come 2023 general elections for the peace and overall development of the Country.
Also speaking, the chairman of the event Chief Austin Umahi while commending Ohaozara people for their hospitality, peaceful demonstration and their unalloyed support to the chairman since she came on board.
She noted that Mrs Iyioku has left a legacy that can never be forgotten in the Council. He rated Mrs Iyioku as the best chairman the council had ever produced since the creation of the local government headquarters in 1976, while urging her to never relent in doing good as a labourer deserves wages.
On her part, the chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area, Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku lauded the Governor's Wife and indeed the people of the Council for their unflinching supports in her administration.
She admonished the people to always support those in authority for peaceful atmosphere and development of the area while assuring to continue to represent the people positively in any given position for the interest of all.
However, she commended the Governor of Ebonyi State Chief David Umahi whom she said had given Ebonyi Women thirty five percent affirmative action in the State abd reiterated that the council would continue to support all his polices and programmes in the State.
The event attracted distinwomen'sed personalities from all corners in the council including Chief Mathew Uzor, Hon. Ozomena Njoku, HRH Eze Romanus Iyioku, HRH Cosmas Agwu, HRH Uchechukwu Onu, women's group, among others.
