Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii.
An embattled Ebonyi PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii has debunked a rumour making rounds on social media that he had accepted to step down for his rival, Senator Joseph Obinna Ogba to fly the state governorship flag for the 2023 polls.
Odii also denied accepting a ministerial slot in 2023 to step down for Ogba.
Chief Abia Onyike, the Director, AnyiChuks Grassroots Organization, a support group for Odii for the 2023 governorship election made this known in a statement on Tuesday.
Onyike said, "the attention of the AnyiChuks Grassroot Organization has been drawn to a fictitious story in the social media concocted by a spook purporting that the Ebonyi State Governorship candidate of PDP has stepped down for Senator Obinna Ogba in preference for a ministerial position.
"The craft rendered in motor park grammar is certainly the author's figment of imagination mischievously and maliciously designed to deceive the massive followership of Dr Odii.
"Pertinently and factually, the PDP flagbearer in Ebonyi State never attended any meeting anywhere either in person or by proxy for any purpose whatsoever.
"We hereby state categorically and unequivocally that Dr Odii's mandate from the wonderful PDP members subsists. For the avoidance of doubt, Dr Odii will not be disposed to or acquiesce to swap or relinquish the mandate but to diligently and determinedly pursue a logical and successful conclusion of the matter in court.
"We wish to assure the teeming supporters of Dr Odii that he will never betray the confidence and trust you explicitly reposed in him.
"We also assure you that, with your abiding faith and unflinching support, come May 2023, you will reap your rewards. With God, victory is assured."
