Following international youth day, the Ebonyi gubernatorial candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Engr Chukwuma Nwandugo celebrated the youngsters in the state and urged them to remain agents for a positive change in society.
Nwandugo in his message to commemorate this year's celebration noted that the young persons in the state should be entitled to a fair share of place in the successive administration.
The governorship hopeful pointed out that as an industrialist and youth advocator in governance, his administration would not play with them in considering their potential.
He tasked the youths to be awakened to full consciousness of how they are blessed with different skills and therefore utilize them judiciously while waiting for better opportunities to harness their talents.
Appraising the theme of this year’s celebration, “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages,” Nwandugo said, the most common challenge facing the youth has called on them to build a kind of community living where they eschew violence, and reduce conflicts while helping each other when needed.
He charged the youths to be weary of any engagement that reduces their worth as noble champions or deprives them of their benefits.
Nwandugo encouraged the youths to pursue family solidarity in favour of the state and revealed that his administration would prioritize human capital development, to be beneficial to the youth.
The AA gubernatorial candidate hinted that the year's message is revealing to the youths because they are not bootlickers, crumb eaters, decorative accessories or thugs.
He advised the youths to remain focused and not be deterred from the current joblessness and political exigence that has made thuggery more rewarding than exemplary life.
He equally assured them of a proactive approach to handling all the necessary issues bordering on unemployment, youth restiveness and leadership neglect.
