The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ebonyi State has ordered the immediate arrest of the party chieftain, Mrs Ann Agom-Eze following her alleged perjury and anti-party activities in the state.
The APC Chairman in the State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, made this known while speaking to journalists, Monday in Abakaliki.
He called on the Nigeria Police to arrest Mrs Agom-Eze at any place being sighted for attempting to cause crisis and division in the APC family in Ebonyi State.
He noted that Ann Agom-Eze would not fly the Ebonyi South Senatorial ticket of APC in the state following her failure during the primary elections.
The Chairman accused Ann Agom-Eze of committing anti-party activities by associating with some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to cause a crisis in the APC.
Emegha said: “In our party’s constitution, a letter is usually signed by the Chairman and Secretary, but in this case, it was only signed by the Chairman. This is contrary to our constitution.
"We tried to give her a fair hearing. She has been invited to the zone, state, and ward levels and she refused to come.
“For the female contestants, the form was given free while the male paid N20m. She demanded a Prado SUV and N20M. Ann never complained to the ward, zone and stated that she was being marginalized.
“She openly denied that she never withdrew. We are charging her to court for perjury. I have written a letter to the CP for her to be arrested and charged to Court. When the party invites you and you refuse to come, it is a crime. The PDP Senator is behind it. Whatever the constitution says, we will follow.
“In January, she wanted to decline from running and then pave the way for a serving PDP Senator to have a smooth sail during the 2023 general election. We will charge Ann for anti-party activities.
“Ann Agom-Eze will not fly our flag in the 2023 general election. What has she contributed to the party in her ward? What is happening is distracting me from consulting for my governor?"
Also, Mrs Ann Agom-Eze's ward executives had accused her of having allowed herself to be used by the influential members of the opposition parties to inject crisis into the APC family in the state, particularly their ward.
Speaking on their behalf, the APC acting Chairman of Umudomi ward in Onicha LGA, Nwite-Eze John Ejike and the Secretary, Uzoma Okorie announced the expulsion of Mrs Ann Agom-eze alongside the suspension of their former ward chairman, Ogboji John Ogbonnaya, who allegedly engaged themselves in anti-party activities, among other unlawful practices in the state.
