The immediate past chairman of Abakaliki local government council, Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele has officially handed over to the newly sworn chairman of the council Hon. Ebere Stephen Nwogba, urging him to anchor his leadership in God.
Hon. Nwangele who handed over to the new chairman at the council headquarters, Nkaliki, expressed a high level of confidence that the administration of the new chairman would record huge success.
Nwangele who is now the Senior Special Assistant, SSA to the Ebonyi Governor, Engr. David Umahi promised to continue working with the new chairman towards enhancing the success of his administration.
The immediate council chairman while presenting his handover note to the chairman made it categorically clear that his administration recorded tremendous achievements and some challenges but in all, through God, he succeeded and expressed optimism that his successor would deliver on his mandate.
He congratulated the brand new chairman for his uprightness while wishing him well in his new office and urged him to sustain every Monday morning devotion which was always held in the council during his administration for God's protection and guidance as he continues to discharge his official duties.
However, the immediate past council boss informed the chairman about the notice he received on the misunderstanding among youths of Amegu and Edda Communities respectively and urged him to urgently wade into action to avoid crises in those communities.
He further informed the chairman of the demise of the HOD of Agric who died recently and is yet to be buried urging him to do his best to ensure he was laid to rest while calling on the people of the council to rise to their responsibilities towards the emergence of all the APC candidates come 2023 general elections in the State.
He charged youths to eschew violence and never allowed themselves to be used as a tool to cause political crises.
While receiving the handover note the newly sworn-in chairman, Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba commended the immediate past council chairman and expressed satisfaction for successfully handing over to him and commended him for all the efforts he made to ensure he succeeded him in the office.
He thanked God for providing another big opportunity for his predecessor and wished him well in his new office.
He assured the SSA to the Governor that he would continue working with him as they are partners in progress, adding that he intended to surpass his achievements and vowed to prioritize the welfare of workers in the council using the available resources to ease their means of livelihood and prayed God to give him the grace and enablement to fulfil all the aspirations and yearnings of the council people.
Hon Nwogba who said he received the news of the demise of the HOD of Agric with shock, described his death as a colossal loss not only in the council but the society at large and prayed to God for the repose of his soul while assuring contribution of his quota towards giving him a befitting burial.
He enjoined the deceased family not to cry hopelessly but anchor their faith in God in their interest.
Reacting to the misunderstanding of youths of Amegu and Edda Communities respectively, the council chairman assured to swing into action to avoid unnecessary crisis and promised to ensure there was absolute peace in all the nooks and crannies of the council and solicited the total support and solidarity of the stakeholders and indeed the good people of the local government area to move the council to the enviable height.
