Emerging from the 2022 Abakaliki Diocesan Communications Week, on Monday was the inauguration of the executive members of the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, CAMPAN, Ebonyi State Chapter.
The Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Nworie Chukwu, who officiated the grand finale of the event, inaugurated the CAMPAN executive members at the Bishop Thomas McGrttrick's Pastoral Centre, Abakaliki.
During the Inaugural Mass, the Bishop, Most Rev Dr Peter Nworie Chukwu charged the media practitioners to help in building a better society through a balanced reportage stressing that developmental and solution journalism should be their watchword on daily basis.
Rev. Fr. Henry Ifeanyichukwu Ogodo, was appointed as the Chaplain of the newly inaugurated Association and also the Diocesan Director of Social Communications.
Among other priests present at the episcopal event was the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev Fr Matthew Opoke.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Nworie was sworn as the President of the CAMPAN while Chika Okorie will serve as the Vice President.
Other Executives who were inaugurated by the Bishop included Sir Godwin Ugwuta - Secretary, Nkechinyere Oginyi - Assistant Secretary, Godwin Ezeaka - Publicity Secretary, Uzo Egwu - Treasurer, Uchenna Inya - Financial Secretary, and Agnes Nworie - Director of Social (DOS).
