Ahead of the 2023 polls, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has agreed to reconduct a primary election for aspirants in the Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The party agreed in a lawsuit filed by an aggrieved aspirant, Victor Olusegun Ategbole, against the election of Adegboye Adefarati.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published the name of Adefarati as the party’s candidate for Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency.
Adefarati was declared winner of the primary after it was moved from the St. Patrick’s Secondary School, Iwaro-Oka, Akoko South West Local Government Area to Akure, the state capital.
In the terms of settlement which became a judgment of the court, Ategbole and the defendants agreed to settle the suit out of court.
