The Special Counsel to the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor has expressed displeasure on the adjournment of the hearing of the lawsuit seeking to stop the group from being prohibited.
NATIONAL PANEL learnt that the case was adjourned to 7th March 2023, as the three-member Court of Appeal Justices were absent in court in Abuja to hear the appeal against the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the separatist group’s Special Counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor’s motion for leave to join IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, as a beneficial party in the appeal.
But Ejimakor while expressing his dissatisfaction over the adjournment, described it as "unacceptable.”
Recall that since September 2017, IPOB has been outlawed as a terrorist organization by the Nigerian government.
However, IPOB lawyers proceed to challenge this label, claiming that the group led by captive Kanu, is non-violent.
