On media position against the habitual critics of prudence, Egede Lawrance writes.
In case you are a habitual critic who sees nothing good about other person's achievements, you have a message here now.
You might have created a kind of bad impression about those who do well in their endeavours, but there is a message for you now.
Those of you who criticize what you know or know not, even the issues that relate to State funds and construction contracts, let me reveal to you that Governor Umahi pays contractors upfront before the commencement of jobs.
From my investigation, he may not be owing any contractor by now, especially those that are in the capital-intensive area.
As for the way some of you that are too young try not to see far back in history and understand the real issues concerning the economy of Nigeria from time, you have a question to answer hereunder.
Right from the olden time of the Nigerian Independence, can the habitual Critics of governments tell us what they know, or knew about how the economy of the country began and ended with Zero value in this generation?
Since I started to know about habitual critics, there was never a time they weren't at sensitive loggerheads with governments.
Since I grew up and mingled with many people, there was never a time that is free from troubles that human beings caused in one way or the other.
Since I started studying human relationships with one another, I have not seen where and when people are not at war at any time.
The more people live together, the more complex it becomes for them to live in harmony and in pretence cause much crisis.
Since I started studying the bible, there was never a place where human beings have not created problems and acquired controversies as a result.
I took my time to look at every other thing that pertains to human problems, there wasn't any time anywhere that human beings don't criticize what they feel or felt good or bad about.
Human beings have caused wars upon wars against each other everywhere in the world.
The Bible has got a record of many wars, either provoked or not provoked, just to make sure that peace doesn't reign where there shouldn't be waramongt people. The world is a problem.
Because the world is always a problem people love to create it for others, even when there are chances to live with solutions.
Since the creation of Ebonyi State, one government or the other has come and gone with her problem and solution.
This time we have a regime headed by a Civil Engineer, a businessman, an industrialist, a civilized politician, a zealous goal-getter, a prudent leader, a constructive character and an informed disciplinarian in any money management system.
Because he doesn't like to steal, people who can steal anything at the slightest chance criticize him, and pretend to be clean at heart but can eat their tongues.
I am talking about Governor Umahi of Ebonyi State, who has been up and doing to bring out the best result from the worst situation report of a poor State.
And because he has not been subdued by ugly circumstances and has not been defeated by pressures from people, that is the reason pessimists who are habitually ignorant think he is difficult. They criticize him and even cartoon him obnoxiously.
I have taken my time to study the ongoings in the Nigerian economy since Independence, and what I saw didn't warrant that any leader of nowadays should be crucified for any reason.
Leaders like Governor Umahi are not to blame for any reason, because the economic fault in the nation began very far back.
He is a leader to be admired and appreciated, for staging a near successful crucial war in a critical war situation, against an austere economic impact on a nation under a self-made crisis in Ebonyi State. It is a miracle.
The crisis in the economy is the worthlessness of money value in the business marketplaces, which was caused by thieves on personal aggrandizement missions at the helm of affairs.
The worthlessness of money value is the infection inflicting injuries on the economy from head to toe. It is a long story.
The infection that caught up with the economy is a historic outbreak of neglect, in the early hours of political ignorance by the previous leaders in Nigeria.
There were no changes in the consumer habit of our leaders, who were more or less a group of bureaucrats, politicians and with few technocrats and luxury lovers in their comfort zones.
They did not formulate any local and international solid economic policy law, in running the system of governance in the country a long time ago.
Professionals like Umahi, who would have been very useful in building and sustaining the life of the economy of Nigeria were put at the back, yet they helped.
The politicians only succeeded in turning the nation into a crazy consumer State, and that was the beginning of our economic predicament till today. It went down with stress and setbacks.
However, I have never seen any prudent government that came on board, which habitual critics ever valued but undervalued to a ridiculous point of cruelty.
I think it is high time for the Ebonyi State government of today, to silence the critics by ignoring them because there is too much evidence already in place to prove them wrong.
To God is the glory forever.
