In the spirit of the Christmas and new year celebrations, the Ebonyi Gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 general election, Architect Dr Edward Nkwegu has facilitated with the Presidential candidate of his party, Peter Obi and his family members.
Dr Nkwegu in his 2022 Christmas message, which he made available to journalists in Abakaliki on Wednesday, also rejoiced with the state and National Assembly candidates of the Labour Party, State Executives, Chairmen and Ward Executives of the party, as well as the entire people of Ebonyi state who believe in the struggle for justice, equity and credible leaders, come 2023.
He appreciated the commitment of the Directors and members of his Campaign Council to ensure the Victory of candidates of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, the former members of the state Executive council who are in the Labour party, Members and leadership of the Civil Society Action Group, Traders, Tricycle and Okada riders, as well as Civil and public servants in Ebonyi state on this auspicious occasion.
He further said: "Let me assure you that the distractions by the unscrupulous elements in some parts of Ebonyi state will not stop me and other candidates of the Labour Party from Winning the 2023 general elections.
"As we celebrate Christmas and the new year, we must not forget the essence of the season which is a remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ and the ideals which he lived by maintaining peace, tolerance and self-sacrifice despite the harsh economic situation facing Nigerians including the Ebonyi people.
"Let us continue to offer special prayers for Unity and peaceful co-existence among citizens and to overcome the recent problem of insecurity in Ebonyi state.
''We must do more to foster peace this season and beyond irrespective of political affiliations.''
"This season calls for a show of unconditional love for we cannot claim to love God if we do not show love to our fellow Men created in the image and likeness of God.
"Remember that 2023 is pregnant, secure your Voter's card to deliver Arc Edward Nkwegu OFR, Edon as the Governor of Ebonyi state and other candidates of the Labour Party in the state.
"Your Vote must count.
