The Director General (DG) of Ebonyi Liberation Campaign Council, Barrister George Ukpai has expressed optimism about the victory of the Labour Party candidates at the 2023 polls.

Ukpai made his conviction known to Journalists in Abakaliki on Friday after the inauguration of the officials of the Ebonyi Liberation Campaign Council for the 13 local government areas of the state.
The inauguration of the grassroots campaign leaders, according to him, was to ensure that Labour Party wins all positions in the forthcoming general elections.
He reiterated that his party has what it takes to win all the positions in the state without the use of violence.
His words: "This event for which we have gathered provides an opportunity for us to demonstrate our faith and commitment to realizing the new Ebonyi State of our dream.
“Things have gone out of hand so much so that we have begun to blame our stars. We are challenged by unmitigated hardship imposed on us by bad governance. Every sector of our economy is in peril. Traders, farmers, civil servants, etc are now endangered species. Our academic and health systems have been destroyed. Pensioners are languishing and dying systematically without the payment of their gratuities by the government of the day.
“Prices of food items in the market, even kerosene, have gone beyond the reach of the common man. The seed we are therefore sowing today is part of our focused strategies to take our destiny into our hands.
“You have been carefully nominated by your stakeholders to pilot this Ebonyi Liberation project in your Local Government. To take back Ebonyi is possible.
“This is a call to service. Demonstrate your capacity to deliver on this assignment. The Campaign Directorate will provide you with all you need to succeed. The electorates are ready to vote for our great Party, the Labour Party.
“Please if you know you are not Obidient, leave us quietly and peacefully. If you have been planted as a mole to destabilize us, go in peace and your sins shall be forgiven,” the DG said.
The DG continued, “the previous mandate of our Principal on this project was stolen by our oppressor's sheep's hawks in sheep clothing. Touch not the anointed for this project is divine. Be part of our imminent success story. We must get it right now or never”.
The Labour Party Deputy Governorship Candidate, Prince Aja Nwabueze charged the newly Inaugurated local government Executbycordance with the mandate given to them.
“You have been Inaugurated today to go out there and canvas for votes and supporters. You Are not going to sleep but to work” Aja said.
The LGA Executives were permitted to go to their various wards to Inaugurate their ward Executives on or before the end of Monda 9th January 2023 before the Mega rally of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi in the State.
The newly Inaugurated local government Executives unanimously agreed to succeed the Success of Peter Obi, Edward Nkwegu and other candidates contesting under the platform of the Labour Party in the State.
