Ebonyi gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressive Party ( YPP), Engineer Sunday Andrew Opoke has assured the people of his state of a leadership with fear of God if emerged victorious at the 2023 polls.
He promised to restore lasting peace in all facets of Ebonyi if chosen as the Governor of the State in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Opoke who made these promises during the Izhia Christian Union’s Prayer summit and thanksgiving service held at Ezzangbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State, also maintained that his administration would end insecurity in the state.
He said: "I will make sure that no one takes arms against his brother or sister in our state again. “I will rule the people of Ebonyi State as the Governor with fear of God.
"I will use the gospel to change people’s bad attitude and to give them orientation that will change their mindset for a better Ebonyi State.
“People will see reasons to do things well in our government. The resources of the State which God has endowed will be used to make Ebonyi people very comfortable and rich."
The major hint of the occasion was ushering God's blessings on Opoke by the organisers of the prayer summit to ensure his landslide victory in the 2023 polls.
The National President of the Christian Union, Mrs Patricia Ede, also extolled Opoke for attending the event while praying for the peace and success of the forthcoming general election across Nigeria states.
The President recalled that the theme of the prayer summit was ‘Izhia Celebrates Jesus Christ," and wished all and sundry who honoured the event a prosperous new year.
