The Moderator-General Reformed Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, RPCN, Rt. Rev. Uduma Chima has few months to the general election in Nigeria, and tasked Nigerians to reject all corrupt politicians in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
Bishop Uduma tasked leaders at all levels of government in Nigeria to accommodate one another and should shun all forms of selfish politics, especially as the 2023 election approaches.
The Bishop made this known in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki by the director of media Dr Joseph N. Chukwu.
He tasked politicians to seek God's intervention, and make God the Pilar of their campaigns to avert dangers.
According to him: "Christmas, therefore, is an occasion for thankfulness and gratitude to the Almighty God for giving us a Saviour and bringing light to our hitherto dark and sinful world. This calls for total reflection on our lives and walking with God to make amends where necessary.
"As we approach the 2023 general elections which the electioneering campaigns are going on even in this Christmas period, let us put God and God alone at the centre of the entire process and activities to enthrone just and godly governments manned by just and godly people.
"Government leadership should also be for all. Let us be accommodative and considerate in the process. God-fearing people are men and women of good reports devoid of corruption and corrupt tendencies.
"Let us boldly say "NO" to corrupt politicians for the sake of our country. We should not play selfish politics with our present and future.
"Let me encourage everybody to cooperate with the federal government and the Central Bank of Nigeria in the bid to overhaul the financial policies, especially in the use and flow of our currency notes.
The clergyman however declared support for the central bank of Nigeria, CBN, in their bid to revive the Nation's economy: "The Reformed PCN supports fully every effort being made to rescue and revive our economy from this present moribund state.
"Let me also appeal to our security agencies, the governments and indeed everyone to ensure sound security during and after the yuletide season. Maximum security is possible when we yield to the dictates of love, holiness and righteousness of God and not trust in our capacities as people and government for"except the Lord keeps a city, in vain does the watchmen keep awake" he stressed.
