The leaders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the South East zone have expressed their support for the party's gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi state, Prophet Dr Sunday Adol Awam This announcement was made during a meeting held in Abuja, which was moderated by the national deputy treasurer of the party and attended by representatives from the South East region of Nigeria.

The meeting was called to discuss the state of the party in the South East region and to assess the performance of the party's candidates in various states. However, state coordinators for the Kwakwaso Presidential Campaign Council in Enugu, Imo, and Abia states all expressed disappointment with the lack of engagement and effort from the party's candidates in their states, pointing out the lack of campaign materials and meetings.
In contrast, the state coordinator for Ebonyi, Hon. James Nwite, who represented the Ebonyi guber candidate, praised the performance of the party's gubernatorial candidate, Prophet Dr Adol Awam, who he stated, has the support of the people and will lead the party to victory in the 2023 general election.
Mr Nwite highlighted Awam's past achievements as the chairman of Ebonyi Local Government and his current efforts where he is currently funding other candidates the best way he can for National and House of Assembly elections.
The South East leaders of the Party found this commendable which made them rank Adol Awam as the best gubernatorial candidate in the region.
The meeting also discussed the strategies that would be employed to ensure victory for the party in the upcoming elections. The leaders emphasized the importance of reaching out to the grassroots and building a strong support base within the community. They also discussed the need to address the challenges faced by the party in other states in the South East region and to work together to overcome them.
The national deputy treasurer of the party, who represented the South East national deputy chairman, Prince Onu, praised the efforts of the party's candidates in Ebonyi state and encouraged them to continue working hard to secure a win in the upcoming elections. He also urged the leaders to reach out to other political parties in the region and explore the possibility of forming alliances to increase their chances of success.
The meeting ended with the leaders agreeing to hold regular meetings and to continue working together to ensure that the party is well-prepared for the 2023 general elections. They also urged the party members and supporters to remain committed to the party's vision and to work together to achieve their common goal of securing victory in the upcoming elections.
The meeting was concluded with the leaders and members of the party expressing their confidence in the ability of the party to capture Ebonyi state after the 2023 general election with the leadership of Prophet Dr Adol Awam as the Guber candidate.
