Traditional rulers in Ikwo local government areas of Ebonyi state, at the weekend endorsed the gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP, Prophet Chris Adol-awam as the preferred choice for the 2023 general election.
The Monarchs who spoke through, H.R.H Eze Albert Opefi, who is the traditional ruler of Ekpelu autonomous community in Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi State, said the communities of Ikwo desired peace and would support whoever that will restore peace and order in the crisis driving areas of the state.
Earlier in a remark, the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP, in Ebonyi state, Prophet Chris Adol-awam tasked the electorates in the 13 LGAs of the state to shun vote selling to corrupt politicans, especially as the 25th February 2023 general election approaches.
Adol-awam, who is the general overseer of the Eternal Light of World Christian church, however lamented on the alleged high rate of human blood wastage in most communities of the state.
The clergyman made this known while addressing teeming supporters and electorates during in a constituency consultation/ voters education that took place at Enyibichiri-Ojon community and other areas of Ikwo LGAs of the state.
Adol-awam vowed to restore peace and order in most communities that are at war, create good roads, seaport in Ikwo rivers to boast economic development in the state, if elected as governor in the 2023 general election.
He also lamented over bad road infrastructures in Ikwo LGA, adding that the intentions of becoming Ebonyi governor in 2023 general election is to end the lingering Crisis and killings that existed between Ikwo LGA and other local government areas of the state.
The governorship candidate, also frowned on the high rate of human blood wastage in most communities and high rate of hunger and poverty that is hitting hard on the rural dwellers in the state.
He noted that he would end the lingering war that existed between Cross River and Ebonyi state, which according to him resulted to killings and destruction of valuable properties.
The Clergyman, also frowned on the razing of over 45 houses in Izzi community by hoodlums during the last general election, and called on youths to eschew all forms of violence and destruction of properties in the forthcoming general election in the state.
Adol-awam, who served as ALGON chairman and chairman of Ebonyi LGA, vowed to eradicate poverty and develop the state holistically, if elected governor on March 11th 2023.
He called on all gubernatorial candidates of other political parties to allow Ebonyi North senatorial zone to produce the next governor of the state.
"It is the turn of Ebonyi North senatorial zone to produce the next governor of the state. it's unjust and uncalled for, that somebody from Ebonyi's south and central senatorial zones contests in the next election. They should allow us (Ebony It North) to produce a governor for the seek of equity and fairness" he stated.
