The Diocesan Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, in Ebonyi state, Rt. Rev. Lawson Elom has few days to the 2023 general election tasked Ndigbo, especially the citizens of the state to vote for Peter Obi, adding that any Igbo person that fails to vote for him (Obi) is a great traitor.
Elom, who tasked all church members and all citizens of Ebonyi state, to get their permeant Voters card, PVCs, said they should vote for a credible candidate that will transform the country and reduce the sufferings of all Nigerians.
The Bishop, Elom, made this known while delivering a sermon titled, "Worshipping God in truth and in Spirit" which took place at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, located along Oguja road Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi state.
He frowned at the current hardship and sufferings that Nigerians are passing through, especially with the food, fuel and Naria scarcities, that allegedly wreaking havoc on the citizens.
Bishop Elom, however, called on Nigerians, especially the Christians to trust, believe and continue to Worship God in truth and Spirit, assuring that, God will surely deliver them from the current challenges they are passing through.
According to him: "Any Igbo person that fails to vote for Peter Obi is a traitor to the Igbo nation, if you come to the state, vote for a credible candidate that will not endanger our lives. Vote for a candidate that will not deal with civil servants.
"Vote for a credible candidate that will not entrench cultism. We don't want Jeroboam again. Vote for the candidate that will not use guns and scorpions to deal with us. We are talking about leaders and their exploitation.
"If you go to the House of Representatives, senate and Assembly, vote candidates base on individual capacity" he stressed
He, however, frowned at the continuous ownership of salaries to citizens by leaders, especially in the private sector.
