The Nigerian Army Officers' Wives Association (NAOWA) has declared issues concerning making the home front more comfortable for their members as the top agenda while delivering service to the nation.
The Association stated this during the visit of the Wife of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army, Hajia Nafeesat Dada to the Nkwegu Military Cantonment Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
Our correspondent reports that Hajia Nafeesat Dada inaugurated a newly remodelled Secretariat for the NAOWA during the visit.
Speaking at the occasion, Dada acknowledged the fact that the husbands and loved ones of the military personnel's wives are always on the field protecting the territorial integrity of the country.
She said this gave birth to the visit to encourage wives of the military personnel and solicited for government support to make better progress in issues affecting NAOWA.
Dada while inaugurating the newly remodelled and furnished NAOWA Secretariat by the wife of the cantonment commander, Mrs Folashade Atomode, said it will help to provide an enabling environment for members and workers to operate, for the good of the barracks community.
The wife of the GOC 82 Division who is also the NAOWA chairperson was received by Cantonment Abakaliki, Lt Col. Sunday Atomode, his wife Folashade Atomode as well as other senior officers, including the Commanding Officer 2 Special Women Operations Battalion, Lt Col Oluwatoyin Ibraimo.
Also during the visit, Hajia Dada visited the Cantonment Medical Reception Station (MRS), where she had a one-on-one heart talk with the Medical Personnel to uphold professionalism.
