The Chairperson of the National Association of Community Health Workers in Ebonyi State, Princess Chetachi Jerry Usulor has dished out foods and clothes to less privileged persons in Abakaliki as part of activities to mark her birthday for this year.
Princess Chetachi who dished out the food items and phathoms of wrappers to the needy on Sunday on the platform of the Chetachukwu Charity Foundation, said she derives satisfaction in rendering selfless services to the less privileged persons in the society.
“What motivates me to feed the less privileged today is that whenever I go to the streets and see them hungry and naked, I have the feeling to feed the hungry and cloth the naked, God has been too faithful to me.
“There is no need to spend the money on unnecessary things, within me, charity is what has been keeping me moving, without charity I’m nothing," she said.
Speaking further, the Ebonyi CHW boss disclosed her intention to initiate a free medical outreach program during the 2024 community health week that would include conducting tests and administration of drugs to them as well as relating their conditions to the state government for assistance.
“Today, I saw something that would be one of my 2024 agenda, on community health week, we will do an outreach to check them and give drugs to the ones we can, and when we visit the state government we will relate their matters,” she added.
The chairperson commended the wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru for her contributions to boosting the lives of the less privileged persons in the State with the launch of her Better Health For Rural Women, Children And Internally Displaced Foundation (BERWO).
Some of the beneficiaries, Mr Okey Ambrose, Mrs Cecelia Nwakpa, and Angela Mpuma, thanked her and prayed for her to prosper in good health while urging good-spirited individuals in the society to emulate her gesture by showing love to the downtrodden.
The Chetachukwu Charity Foundation has been engaged in outreach programs to hospitals and settling medical bills for women and children since its inception in 2021.
