In a powerful reflection on his decades-long political journey, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reiterated his unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s unity, prosperity, and democratic ideals despite numerous personal and political setbacks.
Atiku, who has contested for the presidency four times, recalled his earlier political efforts, stating, "I contested for Governor four times. On the fifth, after winning, I became Vice President, not Governor. Now I have contested for President four times!" He also revealed a harrowing episode from his political career: "I escaped an assassination attempt on my life, and eight people were killed."The former Vice President also lamented the loss of his private business assets, alleging federal government seizure: "My businesses were taken over by the federal government!" Yet, he emphasized that these challenges have not deterred his mission.
“I still remain committed to living a legacy for the upcoming generation,” Atiku declared, urging Nigerians to remain focused on building a fair and united nation. “We must endure and continue the struggle and challenges. Complaints alone cannot be the route to achieving both our individual and collective aspirations.”
