The Federal Government has declared Friday, 6th June, and Monday, 9th June, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government, in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm greetings and congratulations to all Muslim faithful across Nigeria and in the Diaspora. He urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold the spirit of sacrifice, faith, and devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) during this sacred period.
The Minister also called on the Muslim community and all Nigerians to use the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations as an opportunity to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria. According to him, the government’s ongoing people-oriented reforms and initiatives, under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, are focused on restoring Nigeria to the path of growth and development.
While wishing Muslims a joyous Eid-ul-Adha, Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged all Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts in repositioning the nation for greatness.
