The Glorious Mount of Possibility Church (GMPC), located in Ojo Alaba, Lagos, marked its 12th anniversary last Sunday with a colourful celebration and renewed attention on its founder, Prophet David Kingleo Elijah, following the fulfillment of one of his recent prophecies.
The anniversary, held amid music, thanksgiving, and spiritual euphoria, drew church members, guests, and well-wishers who gathered in their numbers to mark the milestone. The venue was adorned with vibrant decorations as attendees wore bright, festive garments in celebration of the church’s growth and its faith journey.
Coinciding with the celebration was the realization of a prophecy made by the church’s General Overseer, Prophet Elijah, concerning rising tensions between Israel and Iran. In an earlier televised prophecy, Elijah warned of imminent military conflict that would result in the elimination of several high-ranking Iranian leaders and nuclear scientists. The recent reports of an attack on Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility and the deaths of key military figures appeared to mirror his statements.
“The Lord said I should pass a message to the people of Iran. They should enter into peace because a very terrible issue is about to take place in the realm of the spirit. What I am seeing is that top leaders of Iran are all eliminated. This is inevitable,” Elijah had declared in one of his televised messages.
This is not the first time Prophet Elijah's predictions have drawn public attention. Over the years, he has gained a reputation for what followers describe as “precise and tangible” prophecies. He is credited with foretelling major political outcomes, including the rise of former President Goodluck Jonathan from deputy governor to president, the electoral victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, the removal of Governor Emeka Ihedioha, and the outcomes of elections in Edo and Ondo States.
He also claims to have prophesied the historic election of Barack Obama as the first Black president of the United States, the electoral success of Donald Trump, and even the failed impeachment attempt against him.
Explaining the source of his prophetic accuracy, Elijah told Daily Sun: “It is the spirit of God that opens my spirit to communicate it to humanity. That is why whenever it is said, it becomes accurate prophecy and sure Word of God... It is not because of my good work but because it pleased God to use a common person like me to show His glory.”
Elijah attributed the wider awareness of his prophetic ministry to the rise of technology, particularly his digital platforms such as Possibility TV and the Glorious Mount of Possibility page, which he said have helped broadcast and archive his prophecies over the years.
As the GMPC looks toward its next chapter, members of the congregation continue to see their leader not only as a preacher but as a modern-day prophet whose words, they believe, are guided by divine revelation.
The 12th anniversary celebration, steeped in gratitude and reflection, was also a moment of validation for many of his followers, who see the fulfillment of recent prophecies as further affirmation of their faith and their church's spiritual mandate.
