A prominent chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Ambassador (Dr) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not reclaim power in Osun State in the 2026 governorship election.
In a strongly worded statement titled “APC’s Affliction Shall Not Return to Osun in 2026!”, Ewenla praised the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, asserting that the people of Osun have tasted both the APC and PDP and now stand with a leadership delivering on its promises.
Ewenla highlighted what he described as significant progress in the state under Governor Adeleke, noting improvements in health, infrastructure, and overall governance. “General hospitals and primary healthcare centres have been upgraded, modern equipment provided, and additional medical personnel recruited,” he said, adding that the state's new health strategy aligns with global best practices and has attracted support from international partners.
He described the governor’s leadership as people-oriented and transparent, contrasting it with what he termed “years of misrule” under the previous APC-led government.
“To vote APC in 2026 is to support regression,” Ewenla said. “Only someone blinded by partisanship or ignorance would ignore these transformative achievements and vote for APC again in Osun.”
He further claimed that the political awareness among the people has grown and that attempts to buy votes would be rejected in the next election. “We know the calculations of those who trade their votes for crumbs, but their time is up. The people of Osun will not return to Egypt,” he declared.
The PDP chieftain concluded by expressing confidence that the APC would be “finally buried politically” in Osun come August 8, 2026.
