The 60th birthday celebration of Archbishop Onyeuwaoma Godswill Okoro Omoke was marked with heartfelt encomiums, gratitude, and solemn worship to God for His abundant grace, mercy, and kindness throughout the Archbishop’s life and ministry.
The grand event, held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Onueke Urban Parish, drew dignitaries from various walks of life — including business moguls, political leaders, clergy, friends, and well-wishers — who gathered to celebrate the life and service of a man they described as a vessel of divine impact and leadership.
In a series of interviews, clergy and guests expressed admiration and joy over Archbishop Onyeuwaoma’s milestone. Most Rev. Ibeabuchi Agwu, Minister in Charge of Umuahia Parish, described the celebration as “the Lord’s doing,” praying for greater years ahead filled with health, grace, and prosperity.
The celebrant, Archbishop Onyeuwaoma, expressed deep gratitude to God for His sustaining grace across decades of ministry. “This birthday is special,” he said. “I’m grateful to God for 60 years of life and nearly 30 years in ministry. I’ve pastored in many parishes, and God has preserved me. I am healthy at 60, and that alone is a testimony.”
Rev. Amb. Godwin Nwachukwu Ude, Minister in Charge of Isu Parish, Onicha LGA, praised the Archbishop for his exemplary life and mentorship, stating, “You will never drown when you follow him. He is a worthy role model for young ministers.”
Adding his voice, the CCN Secretary, Rt. Rev. Emeka Kalu of Mgbukobe Parish, described Archbishop Onyeuwaoma as a man of wisdom, goodwill, and many talents. “He does not trample on others to rise,” he said. “He is a lifter of people, not a mocker. He has raised generations of leaders.”
Earlier in his sermon, Most Rev. Agwu called on Christians to cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving, noting the importance of gratitude for God’s preservation amid life’s challenges. “Many have died from minor ailments. Let us be thankful for life, for healing, and for the gift of faithful ministers like Archbishop Onyeuwaoma.”
He also reflected on the significance of seasons in a Christian’s journey, drawing biblical parallels: “The sixth day represents struggle, rejection, disease, and even premature death, but the seventh signifies breakthrough, divine favor, and fulfillment,” he said, referencing Galatians 2:4, 4:9, and 5:1.
The celebration featured vibrant musical ministrations, goodwill messages, and the ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake — a fitting tribute to a life devoted to God and service to humanity.
