A new chapter has opened for Isu College (Technical), as the Provost, Professor Okey Reuben Okechukwu, declared that the long-standing outcry over inadequate office accommodation has finally come to an end following the handover of completed TETFund projects by Gosima Construction Company.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony, Professor Okechukwu said the new facilities would immediately be allocated to staff and students, calling it a major milestone in the college’s development.
“Today, the winnowing cry by the students and staff about office accommodation will be brought to an end,” he said. “We will start allocating offices to staff and students. I’ve always asked everyone to be patient because development is a gradual process.”
The Provost commended Gosima Group, led by Dr. Gideon Osi, for their commitment to the project but urged them to return and address a few pending observations. “You have done well. But we expect you to return and complete the remaining work in the spirit of the confidence we have placed in you.”
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Mario Owonwumi, Acting Chairman of the Governing Council, hailed the development as a legacy project.
“Today is a landmark in the history of this college. The contractor, the consultants, and the management team have done extraordinarily well,” he said.
He added that the project reflects the government’s ongoing mission to improve education infrastructure in communities like Isu.
