Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is divinely ordained and unstoppable, urging political agitators and coalition groups to abandon their ambitions and support the President’s administration.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South East zonal meeting in Abakaliki, Nwifuru emphasized that Tinubu's emergence as President in 2023 was the will of God, not man.
"God chose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be President of Nigeria contrary to the wishes and expectations of the opposition in 2023.
"No amount of coalition can derail God's purpose of Tinubu winning the election in 2027," Nwifuru said.
Nwifuru in a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, credited Tinubu with bold economic policies aimed at national recovery and called on Nigerians, especially those from the South East, to be patient and supportive.
“We need someone who can take bold decisions, and President Tinubu has such capacity,” the Governor added, reaffirming that APC remains strong and rooted in Ebonyi.
Governor Nwifuru also warned against political imposition within the APC and called for inclusiveness and internal democracy.
“It is wrong to impose a candidate during elections,” he stated.
In his remarks, Ebonyi APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, assured that the party is expanding and absorbing more members from the opposition.
Zonal APC Chairman, Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, described the meeting as part of ongoing consultations across the South East, praising Governor Nwifuru’s leadership and development strides in Ebonyi.
“What the governor is doing is impressive. Ebonyi is clearly on the path of progress,” Arodiogbu remarked.
The meeting reaffirmed the South East APC’s readiness to back Tinubu’s second-term bid and consolidate the party’s gains across the region.
