The Executive Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Prince Ikechukwu Onwe Odono, has charged the youths of the area to remain law-abiding and support the government in power for continued peace and progress.
Odono made the call when he received a delegation of Ohaukwu youths led by their president, Comrade Onah Emmanuel, during a familiarization visit to his residence at Odogwu Hotel, Ezzangbo, Ebonyi State.
He emphasized the importance of peace and warned against any act of violence, stressing that political stability and unity were key to community development.
“I thank you for this visit and for introducing yourselves,” Odono said. “As youths, you must uphold the law, support constituted authorities, and ensure that nothing disturbs the peace we currently enjoy in Ohaukwu.”
Highlighting the role of young people in building a better society, Odono urged them to focus on personal development through politics, entrepreneurship, and other meaningful pursuits.
In his remarks, Comrade Onah Emmanuel reaffirmed the group's loyalty to the local government administration and distanced the body from any opposition or divisive agenda.
“Our aim is to unite the youth, not to fight any stakeholder,” he said. “We support your leadership, and we are committed to promoting peace, unity, and development in Ohaukwu.”
The meeting ended with a mutual resolve to strengthen collaboration between the local government and the youth body to sustain harmony and drive progress across the council area.
