Thousands of jubilant youths under the banner of Nkaleke Progressive Congress in Ozibo Development Centre, Ebonyi Local Government Area, staged a massive solidarity march in honour of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State over his continued rural development efforts, particularly the construction of key road infrastructure.
The march, which drew over 2,000 participants including elders and community leaders, was held to express appreciation to the Governor for the ongoing 16.7km Randa to Mbamini road project and the completed 23km Ogbaga-Nwofe road—two transformative projects seen as lifelines for the rural economy.
The youths, wielding placards with messages such as “Thank you FON for remembering Nkaleke Ozibo Ugbala road” and “Ozibo Ugbala people are not ungrateful people”, described the Governor’s interventions as a “relief from years of abandonment.”
Spokespersons of the group, Comrade Joshua Onwe and Prince Kings Ogara, hailed the Governor’s attention to the rural populace and vowed to ensure the ongoing projects are executed to standard.
“We will assist in monitoring the construction to ensure quality. And come 2027, we will reward the Governor with our votes,” Onwe declared.
Also addressing the crowd, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Documentation, Dr. Boniface Nwankwo, lauded the youths for the peaceful nature of the march, describing it as a “model of civic engagement and loyalty.”
“I want to commend the Nkaleke Progressive Congress youths for showing rare gratitude. This kind of peaceful solidarity is a testament to the impact Governor Nwifuru’s administration is making at the grassroots,” Nwankwo said, urging continued support for the administration.
The march is the latest in a series of public endorsements the Governor has received from communities across the state in appreciation of his aggressive rural development initiatives.
