The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), a pro-Tinubu political movement, has officially launched its Ebonyi State chapter, declaring full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The inauguration, held in Abakaliki, drew hundreds of supporters and featured a large-scale empowerment programme targeting grassroots beneficiaries across the state.
Speaking during the event, the National Coordinator of SERHA, Belusochukwu Enwere, described the initiative as a platform to showcase the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration and galvanize widespread grassroots support in the South East.
“This initiative was conceived to showcase the progress and development of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are united in our resolve for a better future through a people-oriented administration,” Enwere stated.
He highlighted the establishment and operationalization of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) as a critical achievement for the region under Tinubu’s leadership. “With SEDC now fully functional, opportunities for growth and development in the South East will be unlocked,” he added.
Enwere charged the newly inaugurated Ebonyi chapter to be worthy ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda. “You are now the marshals of this movement. Carry the message of good governance to every ward and community. The South East will not be left behind in this journey of national transformation,” he declared.
The event also featured a massive empowerment programme for over 1,000 beneficiaries. Enwere disclosed that financial support ranging from N20,000 to N200,000 was disbursed to hundreds of individuals to support small businesses, alongside the distribution of items including rice, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, and hairdressing equipment.
“This is grassroots democracy in action. President Tinubu wants the dividends of democracy to reach the people directly,” Enwere said.
In his welcome address, the Ebonyi State Coordinator of SERHA, James Eze Alaka extolled the strategic significance of Ebonyi State in the political architecture of the South East. According to him, the state chapter now boasts over 600 executive members across the state’s 13 local government areas and 171 political wards — making it the largest political mobilisation structure in the state.
“Ebonyi State is the Salt of the Nation and a key pillar in this renewed hope project. Since our zonal empowerment in Owerri in December 2024, we have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of our people,” Alaka stated.
He commended the National Coordinator, Enwere, for his “energetic guidance and strategic leadership,” and expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, for his unwavering support for the Tinubu administration.
“Governor Nwifuru is the father of modern Ebonyi and a strong pillar of encouragement. With leaders like him standing by the President, Nigeria’s development is assured,” he noted.
Alaka also extended gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing an Ebonyi son, Senator David Umahi, as Minister of Works, calling it a historic milestone.
He concluded with a resounding declaration: “We have resolved to deliver 100% of our votes to Mr. President in 2027 to enable him to continue his good work.”
The event attracted representatives from all 13 LGAs and 171 wards in Ebonyi, signifying broad grassroots penetration in the state.
