The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Prof. ibibia Lucky Worika has said that the State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas Ekwe, remains steadfast and totally committed towards upholding the ideals of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Worika who is the Chairman of the State NYSC Governing Board, said this today at the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area during the 2025 NYSC/Corps Employers workshop.
The SSG used the occasion to assure the NYSC management and corps members in Rivers State that the government will not rest on its oars until the scheme's operations align with best global practices.
"We decry the activities of some unscrupulous employers who connive and conspire with corps members not to serve their fatherland.

The Director General of the NYSC, Brig Gen Olakunle Nafiu, represented by the Deputy Director Operations, NYSC South South Area Office II, Port Harcourt, Mr. Chijioke Duru described the workshop as an essential tool for decision-making.
"This is aimed at engaging employers for strategic communication, harmonisation of views and opportunity to explain the scheme's policy direction.
" I beckon employers to see the workshop as a task to partner the NYSC management, in articulating ideas that will enhance and strengthen the scheme's operations."
The State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe informed the employers that the major essence of the workshop is welfare of corps members.
"We must determine how to effectively mobilise them for the socio-economic development of Nigeria, and in particular, Rivers State.
"The corps members are mostly non-indigenes of their states of service.and therefore, deserve bountiful hospitality from their host communities.
"This is to optimally discharge their duties."
