Senator Kenneth Emeka Eze representating Ebonyi Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, has reaffirmed his dedication to cultural preservation and agricultural revitalization during the 2025 Okeaku Ezza Ezekuna Festival.
In a goodwill message delivered to the traditional rulers, elders, and the entire sons and daughters of Ezza Ezekuna, Senator Eze expressed profound joy over the celebration of one of the most revered and ancient cultural events in Ebonyi State.
“Okeaku Festival is not just a cultural event. It is a proud symbol of our shared heritage, agricultural prowess, communal identity, and a profound expression of gratitude to God," he said.
The Senator emphasized that the Okeaku Festival stands as a living legacy of the wisdom of Ezza forebears, the dignity of labour, and the deep-rooted bond between the people and the land.
He called on all Ezza people both at home and in the diaspora to uphold and promote the festival with pride and dignity.
As part of his legislative focus, Senator Eze highlighted his commitment to promoting initiatives that support sustainable agriculture, empower rural communities, and protect the cultural values that bind the people of Ezza Ezekuna.
“As your son and representative in the Senate, I will continue to advocate for programmes and policies that uplift our people and ensure that our traditions and values are not only celebrated but also protected and enhanced,” he assured.
He prayed for peace, unity, renewed hope, and prosperity in every Ezza household, wishing all celebrants a joyful and safe Okeaku Festival.
He thus, declared in his traditional voice: “Ezza Ezekuna anyi abo ooh! Awhua l'aburu anyi awhua oma!” (A salute of unity and blessings to the people of Ezza Ezekuna.)
