In a landmark move reinforcing his commitment to educational advancement, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has approved and disbursed a N400,000 bursary to every Taraba indigene currently enrolled in the Nigerian Law School for the 2025 academic year.
The payment, coordinated by the State Ministry of Justice under Hon. Commissioner Barr. Maikasuwa Yakubu (SAN), forms part of the Governor’s far-reaching educational reform agenda focused on human capital development.
Governor Kefas, widely lauded for launching free basic and secondary education across Taraba, is now taking bold steps to remove financial barriers for students pursuing professional legal training.
His administration’s gesture is seen as a strategic investment in the state’s judicial future.
“This support ensures that no brilliant Taraba mind is left behind because of financial limitations,” said Saidu Yahya, Special Assistant on Media to the Governor. “Dr. Kefas is raising a generation that will uphold justice and transform governance.”
The initiative reaffirms Governor Kefas’ vision to create an empowered, educated, and competitive Taraba, setting a benchmark for purposeful leadership in Nigeria.
