In a moment of pride and gratitude, Engineer Dr. Uchechukwu Stanley Nwankwo Ogah was on Monday officially presented with the “Man of Altruism” award by the Boys Brigade of Nigeria, Ndufu-Amaga Parish, in recognition of his selfless service to humanity and contributions to the growth of Christ’s kingdom.
Speaking to journalists shortly after receiving the award in Abakaliki, Dr. Ogah, who is the State Secretary of C-Sagas Charity Foundation and also heads Neurodiagnostic Laboratory Unit at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital (AE-FUTHA), expressed deep appreciation to the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria and the Boys Brigade for finding him worthy of the honour.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank the good people of the parish, the Reverend, all members of PCN, and indeed the Boys Brigade, for this award.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. I’ve been doing everything I can to ensure humanity is happy, and I will continue in that path," he said.
Ogah, a native of Agubata-Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, said the honour was a motivation to sustain and deepen his philanthropic commitments, which he described as part of his DNA.
The award, originally scheduled for presentation during the 4th Annual Enrolment Service of the Boys Brigade Nigeria, was handed over by Lieutenant Reinhard Nnanna Ogah, who also served as the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the event.
Lt. Ogah explained that the honour was bestowed on Engr. Ogah based on his unwavering support for the Church and impactful community engagement.
“We recognized him due to his contribution towards the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom,” he stated.
“I personally recommended him to the organization, and the choice was unanimous," he further stated.
Engr. (Dr.) Ogah pledged to uphold the values of the award, reaffirming his commitment to community development, service to God, and humanity at large.
The Boys Brigade Nigeria, a technical and spiritual development arm of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, has in recent years intensified efforts to identify and reward exemplary individuals who reflect the core values of the organization—discipline, dedication, and service.
With this latest recognition, Dr. Ogah joined a select league of honourees whose lives and works inspire communal hope and transformation across Ebonyi State and beyond.
