In a bold show of loyalty and political solidarity, the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and the First Lady, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru, for entrusting her with the responsibility of serving as Acting Governor during the Governor’s absence.
Obila, in a statement issued on Monday, described the assignment as both an honor and a mark of confidence in her capacity to hold the fort, pledging her unwavering commitment to the People’s Charter of Needs administration.
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Governor of Ebonyi State, and Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru, the First Lady, for entrusting me with the responsibility of serving as Acting Governor. Your trust and confidence in me remain deeply appreciated,” she said.
The Deputy Governor also extended appreciation to the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Moses Odunwa; the Judiciary, headed by Chief Judge Justice Elvis Ngene; the APC State Executive Committee, chaired by Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha; the State Executive Council; stakeholders; permanent secretaries; local government chairmen and development centre coordinators; traditional rulers; the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) leadership; and support groups across the state.
She commended their cooperation and dedication to governance during the Governor’s absence, noting that their steadfastness helped maintain stability and progress in the state.
Obila particularly thanked God for the safe return of Governor Nwifuru, stressing that his leadership remains central to sustaining the pace of transformation in Ebonyi.
“Let us remain united in our support for the People’s Charter of Needs administration as we continue to build a greater and more prosperous Ebonyi State,” she added.
Her remarks come as the Governor resumed official duties after a brief absence, with political stakeholders reaffirming their support for his administration. Analysts see Obila’s message not only as an expression of gratitude but also as a reaffirmation of loyalty, signaling unity within the APC-led government in Ebonyi State.
