The Ebonyi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), otherwise known as the Supreme Council of Ebonyi Youths, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the member representing Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency, Chief Joseph Nwobashi, pledging their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The delegation, led by the State Chairman, Hon. (Comrade) Douglas Ochishi, described Nwobashi as an uncommon achiever and youth advocate whose contributions to youth empowerment and development have been exemplary.
An investiture was conferred on the lawmaker during the visit at his Abakaliki residence.
In his remarks, Nwobashi lauded the NYCN for its activities and open support for the APC-led administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru. He announced a donation of two brand-new motorcycles to aid the Council’s mobility, alongside a cheque of ₦500,000 as transport support for the delegation.
Ochishi commended Governor Nwifuru for what he called “aggressive youth empowerment and inclusion in governance,” citing employment, skills acquisition, and scholarship schemes that have touched the lives of young people across the state.
Also speaking, Barr. Aligwe Sampson, National Legal Adviser of the Council, applauded Nwobashi’s leadership and reaffirmed the Council’s resolve to support him and the APC at all levels.
In a vote of thanks, Comrade Okemini Joshua, the Zonal Vice Chairman of the Council in Ebonyi North, hailed Nwobashi’s open-door policy and pledged the youths’ commitment to reshaping the narratives of Ebonyi youths.
