An aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the position of Executive Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government Council, Chibueze Odigwe has formally purchased his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Ebonyi State.
The exercise took place earlier Monday at the APC Secretariat, Abakaliki.
Odigwe was accompanied by the incumbent Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Uburu, as well as party stakeholders and a large number of supporters who converged at the secretariat to show solidarity.
The nomination forms were purchased at the cost of ₦30 million, marking a major step in Odigwe’s quest to lead the local government at the grassroots level.
Speaking shortly after the purchase, Odigwe pledged to deliver purposeful and people-oriented leadership if elected.
He emphasized that his administration would prioritize the general welfare of the people, inclusive governance, and sustainable grassroots development across all communities in the local government area.
According to him, the needs of the people at the grassroots would remain central to his policies and programs, as he vowed to run an all-inclusive administration that carries every segment of the society along.
“I am committed to making the people of Ebonyi Local Government proud through welfare-driven governance and effective service delivery,” he said.
Party leaders and supporters at the event expressed confidence in his capacity to lead, describing his aspiration as timely and aligned with the development aspirations of the local government.
Odigwe’s entry into the chairmanship race is expected to further shape the political landscape of the Ebonyi Local Government polls as the APC intensifies preparations for the election.
