The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released the timetable for its nationwide congresses ahead of the party’s much anticipated National Convention scheduled for April 14, 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday, the National Media Frontiers of the party announced that the schedule has been approved by the party leadership as part of efforts to strengthen internal democracy and consolidate the party’s structures across the federation.
The statement was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC National Media Frontiers, Honourable Muhammed MJG GKAF.
According to the timetable, Polling Unit and Ward Congresses will hold on April 7, 2026, while Local Government Congresses are slated for April 9, 2026. State Congresses will follow on April 11, culminating in the National Convention on April 14.
The party said the congresses will provide members at all levels the opportunity to actively participate in the democratic process of electing party officials and reinforcing the party’s grassroots presence nationwide.
ADC also called on party leaders, stakeholders, executives, and members across the country to remain united and committed throughout the process.
The party emphasized that the congresses represent an important milestone in its ongoing efforts to build a stronger and more formidable political structure ahead of future electoral engagements.
It urged members to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly while adhering strictly to the party’s constitution and guidelines during the congresses and convention.
