Nigeria has been thrown into mourning following the death of former Super Eagles captain, Henry Nwosu, who passed away at the age of 62 after a brief illness.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s most gifted and intelligent footballers, Nwosu’s death has sent shockwaves across Nigeria’s sporting community, drawing tributes from stakeholders, fans, and sports associations nationwide.
Leading the wave of condolences, the South East Basketball Association, under the leadership of Chairman Ugo Udezue, described the late football icon’s passing as both untimely and deeply painful.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Udezue said Nwosu’s influence on Nigerian football was profound, noting that his skill, vision, and leadership on the pitch made him a constant threat to opposing teams and a role model for aspiring athletes.
