The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, setting in motion the party’s internal processes while fixing the cost of its presidential nomination form at ₦100 million.
The development was contained in an official schedule released on Monday by the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja and signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.
According to the timetable, the process will commence with the issuance of notice of election to state chapters on April 20, 2026, followed by the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms from April 25 to May 2, 2026.
The deadline for submission of completed forms has been fixed for May 4, 2026.
The party outlined a comprehensive screening exercise for aspirants across all elective positions, scheduled to hold between May 6 and May 9, 2026.
This will be followed by the publication of screening results on May 11 and a two-day window for appeals from May 12 to May 13.
Primary elections for various offices are slated to begin with the presidential primary from May 15 to May 16, 2026.
The House of Representatives primary is scheduled for May 18, Senate on May 20, State Houses of Assembly on May 21, while governorship primaries will hold on May 23, 2026.
The timetable also provides for post-primary election appeals, with dates staggered between May 18 and May 25, depending on the office contested.
A breakdown of the approved fees shows that presidential aspirants are required to pay ₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination forms, bringing the total to ₦100 million.
Governorship aspirants are to pay ₦50 million, while senatorial hopefuls will pay ₦20 million.
The cost for House of Representatives forms stands at ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly aspirants are to pay ₦6 million.
The party, however, introduced concessions for certain categories of aspirants. Female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities are to pay the full expression of interest fee but only 50 per cent of the nomination fee for each position.
In a statement accompanying the release, the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the timetable underscores the party’s commitment to due process and internal democracy.
He stated that the APC remains focused on conducting credible, transparent, and hitch-free primaries that will strengthen its electoral prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement positions the ruling party among the first to formally outline its internal electoral roadmap, as political activities gradually gather momentum nationwide ahead of the next election cycle.
