The OK Movement, a political support structure aligned with the 2027 electoral aspirations of Nigeria’s opposition realignment figures, has unveiled its expanded state executive council (EEXCO) in Ebonyi State, marking what insiders described as an early and strategic grassroots mobilization drive ahead of the next general elections.
The unveiling signaled a growing political alignment in the Southeast, as supporters of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso intensified efforts to build structured networks capable of influencing voter engagement and political participation at the community level.
The newly announced leadership reflects a deliberate zoning arrangement across Ebonyi State’s three senatorial districts, aimed at promoting inclusivity and grassroots penetration.
Hon. James Nwite from Ebonyi North has been appointed State Coordinator, while Dr. Okey Darlington of Ebonyi Central serves as Deputy State Coordinator.
Evangelist Ude Zion C from Ebonyi South takes the position of State Secretary, as Apostle Dr. Nwankwo Chinwe (Ebonyi North) assumes duties as State Treasurer.
Barrister Ogbodo Ifeoma has been named State Legal Adviser, with Barrister Levi Ibeabuchi appointed as State Publicity Secretary, responsible for communication and public engagement.
The structure also emphasizes inclusion of key demographic groups. Hon. Ngozi Nwaleke emerges as Women Leader, while Barrister Nworie Collins will lead the youth wing as State Youth Leader. Mrs. Otuu Patience has been assigned as Welfare Director, tasked with coordinating humanitarian and internal support systems within the movement.
At the zonal level, Hon. Akota Steve (Ebonyi North), Hon. Hyacinth Nnamdi (Ebonyi Central), and Mr. Agha Ndukwe (Ebonyi South) will coordinate regional activities, ensuring alignment with state-wide political objectives. Urban mobilization will be handled by Hon. Aribodor Chukwudi as Urban Coordinator.
National Youth Structure Emerges
In a move that extends the group’s influence beyond Ebonyi State, Hon. Daud Adams has been appointed National Youth Leader, a position expected to drive youth engagement and coordinate with similar structures across other states.
Early Groundwork for 2027
Political observers note that the formation of a fully structured executive council at this stage reflects the increasing tempo of political organization ahead of the 2027 elections.
While campaigns are yet to officially commence, movements such as the OK platform are already establishing command structures, particularly at the grassroots level, where voter influence is often determined.
The Ebonyi development is being viewed as part of a broader strategy to consolidate support bases for emerging political alliances, particularly those seeking to challenge established party dominance through coordinated grassroots outreach.
As political realignments continue nationwide, the OK Movement’s structured entry into Ebonyi State underscores a clear message: preparations for 2027 are well underway, and the battle for influence is increasingly shifting to local communities.
