The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, High Chief Chikaodili Ojimba, has called on residents of the zone to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise by registering and obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Ojimba made the call in a statement issued on Thursday, stressing that the success of any democratic process depends largely on the active participation of citizens through voting.
He noted that while supporters may express confidence in a candidate, such support can only translate into electoral victory when eligible voters possess valid PVCs and participate in elections.
According to him, the PVC remains the most important tool through which citizens can influence governance and determine the quality of leadership that emerges at all levels.
"Do not leave your future in the hands of others. Register, collect your PVC, and encourage your family members, friends and neighbours to do the same. Every vote matters, and every PVC is a tool for positive change," he said.
The APGA senatorial hopeful urged youths, women and other eligible voters across Ebonyi North to embrace the voter registration exercise and ensure they are prepared to participate fully in future elections.
Ojimba further emphasized that active involvement in the electoral process is a civic responsibility that can help promote accountable leadership, effective representation and sustainable development.
He maintained that the quest for a better future for Ebonyi North and the state at large begins with citizens exercising their constitutional right to vote.
The APGA candidate also appealed to community leaders, stakeholders and political supporters to intensify awareness campaigns on voter registration and PVC collection to boost participation in the electoral process.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is currently conducting voter registration activities across the country ahead of future electoral exercises.
