*Charges corps members to embrace spirit of patriotism, hard work, resilience throughout their service year

The National Youth Service Corps has commenced positing of the corps members of the Batch 'B' Stream 'II' to their respective Places of Primary Assignment (PPA) in Ebonyi, urging them to accept their posting letters with good faith following the closing ceremony of their three weeks orientation course at the old MacGregor College, Afikpo North Council Area of the state.
The NYSC Director General, Prof Shauib Ibrahim has charged the corps members to continue to embrace the spirit of patriotism, hard work and resilience throughout their service year while addressing them in the camp.
According to the DG, ably represented by the the State NYSC Coordinator in Ebonyi, Mrs Bamai Mercy Dawuda, the next phase of the corps members' service year is significance as the entire nation looks up to them for the expected roles in advancing the society.
Mrs Bamai also advised the corps members to always appreciate and respect the culture of the communities where their Places of Primary Assignment are located, and enjoined them to add value to the people by undertaking personal and group community service development projects that will uplift their living standards.
The State Coordinator further urged the corps members to be focused on utilizing their NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme as she advised them during their induction ceremony to keep them with self-employment and wealth creation.
She however, reaffirmed the scheme's commitment on the security and general welfares of the corps members throughout their service year, saying that the management has liased with the security agencies to ensure a successful report.
Bamai equally urged the corps members to shun anything that is capable of putting their lives in danger, adding that they should continue to observe the COVID-19 protocols while discharging their duties in their service year.
The State Coordinator thus, conveyed her profound gratitude to the Federal government for its unwavering support to the NYSC, alongside the state counterpart, other aiding agencies especially the security for its steady assistance to the scheme.
